The Green Pea Pillow ™ company was started with one product, the Green Pea Pillow™, and one mission: Bring environmentally responsible products to the marketplace for consumers.
I created the Green Pea Pillow™ more than 10 years ago for my personal use when I was searching for a pillow to provide a more healthful, comfortable sleep.
After trying buckwheat hull pillows, flax seed pillows, organic wool pillows, and goose feather pillows, I decided to try something unusual. My wife had told me that she grew up sleeping on rice pillows in Korea. Rice seemed too flat to me for a pillow filling so I started thinking about other dried seeds and beans that might make a good pillow filler when I settled on organic whole dried green peas. It was the roundness and hardness of the whole dried green pea that seemed perfect to me. It was that "AHA" Moment!
A single round green pea by itself would not be comfortable (remember the Princess and the Pea?) but thousands of round green peas together creating a fluid surface that massages your neck and scalp as you move your head during the night. They stimulate the acupressure points on your neck and scalp as you sleep. The gaps formed between the peas also let air flow through the pillow keeping your neck and head cool (a good thing when you sleep).
Having created the Green Pea Pillow™ and having used it for over 10 years I knew others would benefit from the Green Pea Pillow™ as well. Whether using it as a napping pillow, meditation pillow, or a full-time sleeping pillow, the Green Pea Pillow™ will provide you with years of enjoyable healthy use.
